Are eschatological discussions among Evangelicals and Latter-day Saints merely placeholders for culture war battles?
Is it okay in these competing visions of the world’s problems (and solutions) for any one of us to make a serious mistake? If so, what is to be done about us?
Popular culture often uses demonic themes for shock value, with many modern commentators denying the existence of Satan or demons outright. But believers benefit from understanding the reality of demonic influence, and clues to the nature of that influence are found in the demons’ own words in scripture.
Much has been written in recent years about what “Latter-day Saints believe” about LGBT issues – only a fraction of which accurately represents our true convictions. Tragically, even today, many are only familiar with these widespread distortions.
When we look at Latter-day Saint rhetoric through the traditional heaven/hell lens it may seem overly harsh. The actual doctrine is much more welcoming.
